PhotoFacial

This is a series of light treatments that improves the appearance of rosacea, flushing, sun damage, broken capillaries, age spots, skin texture, and photoaging.

The treatment also improves mild acne scars, reduces large pores, and improves fine lines and wrinkles. Commonly treated areas are the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs.

What Is A PhotoFacial?

PhotoFacial is an Intense Pulsed Light treatment designed to reduce wrinkles, decrease pore size, improve skin texture, and lighten brown discoloration. PhotoFacial will improve rosacea and sun damage, as well as stimulate collagen to tighten and firm loose skin of the face neck and brow. PhotoFacial treatments can be used on any part of the skin. They are especially effective for improving the appearance of the face, neck, and chest.

What Happens During The Treatment?

Each treatment takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes. A mild amount of discomfort can be expected. Some patients prefer to use a topical anesthetic cream available at our office. Immediately following a treatment, the skin may appear red and flushed and tiny capillaries may appear more visible. Brown spots generally appear darker. All of these changes gradually fade over a period of a few hours to a few days. After your first treatment, your skin will feel smoother and will have a more even tone. These improvements are gradual and will be more visible after each treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Five or six treatments are performed for optimal results. Some patients will benefit from additional treatments.

Is There Any Pretreatment?

For darker skin types, pretreatment with a skin-lightening agent may be necessary for one to two weeks to decrease the melanin production.

Is There Any Post Treatment?

A good sun block is required daily while in treatment and after treatment to maintain results.

Does It Hurt?

There may be some discomfort. No anesthetic is necessary. Most patients rate it at a 5 on a scale of 10. Taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen prior to the treatment may be helpful. If you find the treatment too uncomfortable you can request a topical anesthetic.

How much does it cost?

$375
